Interacting with Ask Video Player
Granting Microphone Access
In order to ask questions verbally, your web browser needs permission to access the microphone on your device. The browser will ask for permission when you first open the site.

You can also return to change your microphone settings by clicking on the icon to the left of the site address bar (🔒, 🎤, 🖥️).

You can also access the Microphone site settings under the general browser settings. You can access the settings via the address bar by entering “edge://settings/content/microphone” (on Microsoft Edge) or “chrome://settings/content/siteDetails” (on Google Chrome). If you click on the ask.storyfile.com settings, you can adjust the microphone permissions to “Allow” instead of “Ask” so access is always granted by default. If the video player is embedded in another website, then the permissions may be listed under the domain address of the parent website.
Once permissions are granted, you should be able to click on “Hold to Talk” to enable the microphone and ask a question. You may also see a red recording icon in the window title or top left corner of the screen, indicating that the microphone is active.
Some browsers and devices, such as the Facebook embedded browser, may not have the ability to access the microphone. The Apple Safari browser may also have issues accessing the Microphone. In these cases, you can still type your questions or choose a question from the Hint menu.
